Re-cap of our week with Roy & Jessica

Rested yesterday, cleaning today and grocery shopping tomorrow.....getting ready for our chillins' to roll in on Saturday for 8 days!! We are now at Barefoot Cay marina where all of our adventures begin!
Our week with our friends was great fun! They are "boat people" like we are so the week went so smoothly. Roy wanted rough seas and flying sails? He got it. Jessica wanted some white beaches and some chill time? She got it. Everyone just did their own thing when they wanted and how they wanted. They marvelled at West End about how they loved that kind of place....it's a dive town. Very laid back, pretty rural. Then, it was on to our day of exploring the Keys, which I've already told you about and back to Anthony's Key to anchor in a lovely lagoon. Great dinner at the Blue Bahia, where our new LSU friend sang the fight song for everyone! On to Turquois Bay Resort to anchor outside their area. They were gracious enough to let us lounge on their beautiful beach and enjoy their cerviche.....as well as have dinner with them on their 3rd anniversary celebration. And because of that celebration, this chick was down for the count the whole next day.....if ya catch my drift!! So, while I recovered, everyone else went snorkeling and over to Punta Gorda for lunch at the Sacrifice cafe. We had also dinghy'd around the beach areas here and found the huge starfish that I will show you a pic of.
Next day, we sail back over to West Bay and anchor right off of the beach there, which we had done a week or so ago and spent the night. But this day, the Hondurian policemen, in their lil boat, came out to tell us that we couldn't anchor at the beach. After some, ahem....'discussion' between them and our cap'n....we got two hours out of the deal. So, what do we do? Go ashore and have some monkey la-la's, of course!! (the equivalent to a bushwacker at rio bonito) We then head back down to West End for the night. Next morning, after a leisurely breakfast and walk thru town, we motor back to Barefoot Cay, with 3-6 ft swells, for the night, so our chilled and weary travelers could catch their plane out on Wednesday am.....which, I haven't heard from them yet; but as of yesterday, when they were supposed to fly out....their flight had been delayed so a machinest could be flown in to fix their plane before take-off. OUCH!
Sure hope they made it back last night.....

It was such a fun week with such great friends! And of course, as some of you know, it is my duty and honor to have our guests listen to Blue Bayou by Linda Rondstadt and Cruisin' by Jimmy Buffet on our last sail into the harbor.............to leave a memory of great times aboard our very own Blew Bayou!!

Drink it up..........This one's for you........
